In 2016 many superhit movies came. But all blockbuster movies are weighted by its box office collection. A film’s initial box office run determines the length of its life in the multiplexes rather than the novelty of the subject or the innovative approach of the director. After November many movies showed very less Box office collections because of demonetization. In 2016 Eight movies crossed 100 Crore mark.

SULTAN : Sultan was the highest earning movie of 2016. Nobody in Bollywood can match with superstar Salman Khan, Sultan stars Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead role, In year where other movies haven't crossed 200 Crore, Sultan earned mre than 300 Crores.

MS Dhoni - Untold Story : This year a new emerging Superstar Sushant Singh Rajput has done a mind blowing performance in his movie. The film is on biopic of Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film received mixed reviews but its the second highest earning movie of 2016. Movie earned 132.85 Crores.

Airlift, Rustom and Housefull 3 : In Bollywood except Khan's the actor who gives big hit is Akshay Kumar. Akshay has gives Three back to back hits this year. First he came up with Airlift which was a big hit and earned Rs 129 Cr, Then a comedy movie Housefull 3 which earned 107.70 Cr and lastly Rustom a Love story which earned 127.43 Cr.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil : Before its release movie came into many controversies for taking Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in movie. But after its release the movie maintain to bring audience in theatres and earned Rs 112.39 Cr. The movie stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead role.

Shivaay : Ajay Devgan made a grat comeback with his new movie Shivaay. The movie was based on the Love between a Father and a Daughter, The movie gave a tough competition to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and earned 100.25 Cr.

Dangal : Aamir Khan's Dangal just now joined the race and in only Thrtee days movie earned Rs 100 Cr. The movie can be the highest earning movie of 2016
