Jai Ho Democracy Review

Om Puri, Annu Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Seema Biswas, Adil Hussain, Aamir Bashir, Grusha Kapoor, Benjamin Gilani

Remember Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro? Of course you do. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro was a satire on society, builders and corruption. Jai Ho Democracy, on the other hand, is a contemporary satire on politics, the media and obviously, the democracy. The film relies on heavyweights like Annu Kapoor, Om Puri and Satish Kaushik to carry it to the masses. Puri and Kaushik were a part of the 1983 classic, and the director of Jai Ho Democracy, Ranjit Kapoor, was also the screenwriter for Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. Coincidence!

Baby Movie Review

Akshay Kumar, Danny Denzongpa, Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Sushant Singh, Madhurima

There's no easy way to write about this film, as it operates on two levels. On a superficial level, the film is a reasonably engaging thriller, but with its share of unintentionally comical moments and gaffes.

Crazy Cukkad Family Movie Review

Jugnu Ishiqui, Zachary Coffin, Praveena Deshpande

The dysfunctional family can be a source of some superb dark comedy. That is what the film attempts, but achieves only intermittently.
